End-of-Season Volunteering

End-of Season Volunteering

Our End-of Season volunteer experience is very different from our in-season, and pre-season volunteer experiences, in length, responsibility and focus.

Each summer, the majority of our approximately 300 seasonal work force are high school and college students, meaning many of our employees return to school in mid-August, leaving a huge void in staffing our businesses for the remainder of the season. We utilize End of Season volunteers to fill their now vacant jobs, allowing us to continue to serve our guests and visitors. This is a "must do" for the person looking for challenge, change of pace and a chance to learn while doing.

Note: Specific duties are not determined by various managers until mid-July, as departure plans for seasonal workers are firmed up. If you are volunteering during this season, a mailing will be sent around that time asking for your preferences regarding the available duties and work locations that are emerging at that time.

There are no pre-set limits for the number of End-of-Season volunteers accepted. In 2008, seventy three (73) End of Season volunteers literally took over the jobs held all summer by departing seasonal employees in various retail, attraction, service and maintenance positions. Volunteers receive two days off per this 11-day experience.

Highlights: Ever wanted to make pizzas and subs, run a retail operation, work at a golf course, or in a kitchen? Different from the In-Season, you will usually do just one assignment for the duration of your stay, it becomes your "job." Many options become  available and with your commitment, our training and support, WE can make it happen. Who knows, it may launch a whole new career!

"Fall... In love with Medora, again!"

Have you ever done it? Spent a little time in Medora in the fall, when the air is crisp, with all the golden colors and reminders of change in the air? New in 2008 and so successful, it's back. Help us wrap up our best season ever. An unlimited number of volunteers are needed to get Medora ready for winter.

Put on your work clothes for a little painting or minor fix up, help close up shops and more, while you enjoy the crisp, fresh air and make new friends. Similar to the Pre-Season experience, the main difference is that it is quiet, warmer (usually) and maybe even more beautiful than in the May sessions.
